The Stanbrook Abbey Press

Here you'll find books printed by the Stanbrook Abbey Press, an English private press run by a community of Benedictine nuns. Initially set up to print religious texts and translations the press rapidly gravitated toward producing limited editions and broadsides impeccably printed and sometimes embellished with calligraphy. The press recieved help and advice from some of the notable figures of the 20th century English private press movement including Sir Sydney Cockerel and Robert Gibbings.
